Had a really rewarding troop in Evansville yesterday. A defunct used book store was being cleared out by the new owners with all the sales to benefit the local no kill animal shelter "It Takes A Village". Had a high profile event today as things start to normalize, a walk for Make a Wish. While a lot of it was virtual they did have an in person component at Kentucky Kingdom. A small bright spot today as I crossed the river to Evansville and did a troop at their local zoo. As it turns out I ended up solo and it was pretty awkward as people didn't know how to react to this person dressed as a jedi just standing around. Drove to Evansville yesterday for the annual Riley Hospital Walk at the mall. This is always a great event and worth the drive. There's good parking, it's inside, they give us a nice changing area with bathrooms close by and for out of towners they'll usually put up a hotel room. Went up to Seymour IN yesterday to troop a mini-con at the local library. I wore my Rebel Pilot and even had a wingman in the group. It was a small troop (just 7 of us) and the event was mostly teens and a few families but I'd never been to Seymour and despite getting lost and being late it was a nice day.

It's been a number of years since I attended Conglomeration. It's a small, all volunteer run con which is becoming more rare in this day and age. For the last couple of years they didn't really have anything that would be a big draw for me but this year they brought in legendary Star Wars author Timothy Zahn. Drove over to Evansville today and trooped the annual Riley Hospital charity walk. I trooped my TIE Pilot. Unfortunately troop turnout this year was lower than usual due to some last minute sick outs. There were only 4 of us total. Still people seemed to enjoy us and there were lots of high fives and pictures.

Travelled over to Evansville last night for the local hockey team's Star Wars Night. I was the sole Rebel Pilot but it didn't bother me too much as we had a great turnout of troops, both in number and quality. Trooped the Evansville Children's Museum yesterday (seems they have us at least a couple of times a year) for their now annual "comic con" for the kids. They have a couple of vendors, geeky themed stations (in addition to their regular exhibits), a kid's costume contest and costuming groups to give the place that "con feel". It's been two years since I made it out to this event but it was as good this time as in the past. I pulled out the TIE Pilot and trooped this with the Indiana troops.
